Lonely Thoughts From the Psych Ward
(And Other Wandering Writings)
1 in 5 Canadians are affected by mental health issues each year.
520 people will be hospitalized for these issues.

Originally written as scribbles in a notebook, “Lonely Thoughts From the Psych Ward” is a reflection of living with the complexities of mental health issues – starting back at the beginning with the childhood trauma that was endured, the struggles of being diagnosed, the impact illness has on loved ones, to finally reaching a breaking point. Told through poetry and wandering writings, this journey follows the strength it takes to fight an invisible illness, the courage to still find beauty in the darkness, and learning to give oneself the grace to admit when they need help.
Where the Land Meets the Sea (a novel)
Sometimes blood isn’t always thicker than saltwater.
Remi Randell is trying to suffer through her last year of high school without causing too much trouble, enjoying what little time she has left on The Rock with her friends. Keeping her head down as to try to not draw the attention of her eldest brother, she struggles with old family wounds outside of her control and being the family outcast.

Alex Randell spends every waking moment trying to punish his sister for a
decision that tore his family apart when he was just twelve years old, tossing their father and brothers in the middle of their fights and interfering in her everyday life. Despite the hate he harbours for his sister, something keeps nagging him to keep a close eye on her.
In a place where everyone is considered “your buddy” and your best friends are family, why can’t Remi and Alex learn to love each other when family is supposed to be everything? And with Remi harbouring dark secrets and Alex too blinded by anger to notice, can a family filled with hurt, secrets, and lies finally remember who knitted them before it’s too late?
